In a rainy and crash-filled finale today I was unfortunately caught behind one of the crashes. The roads were extremely slippery and there were a lot of crashes on the cobblestones. Unfortunately I was stopped by one about seven km before the finish and needed about 10 seconds before I could get out of the muddle. The whole field was broken into groups and I had just lost contact. I still tried everything to ride up to the front, but in this race situation the tempo was so high that it was practically hopeless.

However, I am totally satisfied with my form. My legs were super and I felt really good on the bike. Tomorrow I can travel from Brussels to Qatar with a good feeling.
