Today’s stage may only have had the difficulty rating of 2, but it also featured 3800 meters of climbing. What really got on my nerves was the asphalt, which literally glued itself to our tires. It felt like you had to pedal with an additional 50 watts. That was a lot of work today ;-) But my legs felt good. I got through it well. The other guys, especially Alaphilippe and Daniel Martin rode strongly. It was another good day for the team, and Alaphilippe defended his best-young-rider jersey.
After I was in the ice bath and enjoyed a thorough massage, I can now relax a little and look towards tomorrow.
By the way, you can bid on some books that I have signed for an auction for a good cause. They are great photo books.
I will be back tomorrow. Until then.
