Pleasure and struggle. That is how I could describe my day in pink. It was a hard race with a high tempo and very active from the start on. In the end, the profile proved to be harder than I thought. The finale was very undulating and the last climb was also pretty nasty. So it was unfortunately almost impossible for a rider like me to defend the jersey.

But, it was great to wear it. The fans were great, although I must say there was even more enthusiasm in Holland. They really reacted to the leader’s jersey. There were a lot of fans at the bus and underway too I heard my name a lot. It was hard to miss me. My team styled me up a little ;-)

Tomorrow there might be a sprint again. However, there is a climb before the finish line and with 230 kilometers, it is really long. A lot can happen.
