Even my very own 55 chainring wasn’t enough to help me sprint to the win in this 80 km/h uphill sprint. I would have had to be going 100 km/h in order to make up the missing meters. My position was simply too bad, after I lost my team today shortly before the finish. I tried to work my way up alone, but in the end I was just too far back. The sprints here are very special. And after the crash yesterday slowed me down, today our timing wasn’t right.
Oh well, at least I still have the yellow jersey, it is fun to be underway with the guys again and tomorrow I hope for my next chance.
