Today was all up and down. It was like a roller coaster but we still managed to put in a pace of 50 in the first hour of racing. This day really hurt! I am all in now. After I rode the last climb with Dege, I could at least ease up a little. Today I had no pressure with the time limit, it wasn’t that far left to the finish.
That Dege got second place despite his still not healed crash injuries, was of course the best. Sure, he is annoyed that Gallopin came in a few meters ahead of the field. But who would have thought that a few days ago... We hope that he continues to make progress and we will support him all the way for his dream of a stage win.
Unfortunately we didn’t have the best hotel on yesterday’s rest day. It is hard to blame the organization because it can often be difficult to find good hotels for all the teams at the stage finish. They try to maintain a balance between good and bad hotels for all the teams. And it hit us yesterday. Now I hope that on the next rest day we get a really good hotel with a spa ;-)
