The lost chance for a further stage win at the Tour is bitter, but I was simply not fresh enough in the finale. We controlled the race the entire time, but made a few mistakes when Omega took over in the finale. I was alone in the wind too often and there I used up the strength I needed for the sprint. A big compliment on Cheng and Dries, who did a fantastic job today. And congratulations to Andre. That was stage win #4 for Germany.

At the finish I was surprised by an acquaintance from my home town of Ichtershausen who brought me a "knackwurst" from Fleischer Fritz. Let me tell you, that is really delicious. So in the end it was a successful day. Thank you very much!

By the way, that bracelet that I wear is my Road ID: It contains details about me and about who to contact in case of an emergency. As a cyclist, I am often underway alone while training, and if I should crash and be unconscious, this way at least the emergency responders will at least know who I am and who should be notified. I find it to be a very sensible idea.
