Fifth win in the Scheldeprijs! By now it feels like my home race. I could win today thanks to great teamwork – and it was a very special win. It was Tom’s farewell appearance in Belgium. We started in his hometown and you can imagine that the fans were absolutely beside themselves. Even on the way from the hotel to the start, only 300 meters, we had to be escorted by the police, otherwise we would have missed the sign-in. This enthusiasm is great. It was a celebration for us and especially very emotional for all of us.

In the finale we unfortunately lost Saba, who is my last man in the lead out, to a crash. But we have mastered this situation as a team and I was delivered perfectly, had time to wait and then I brought it in. Luckily no one came past me or even near me. A super win for the team, for Tom and for me.

Now I am taking for a short break and will return to racing in Frankfurt. I am especially looking forward to that. It is always great to ride in Germany. Until then, Marci.
