Brrrr! Was that cold. Today was the first day on which I didn’t feel like a piece of frozen meat. The weather conditions were really crazy and I had problems with that. As the type of rider with a lot of muscles, I really suffer in the cold. Today it was warmer. We rode halfway up Ventoux and I felt a lot better, having gotten in a good group. But we never caught up with the front, so that there might have been a sprint. The profile was just too hard. In the previous days unfortunately I could not be involved in the finale. But as I said, my impression that the cold affected me was proved by today’s warmer temperatures. It didn’t have anything to do with my legs.
Congratulations by the way to the guys in Italy. That was a monster sprint by Gaviria in Tirreno. Way to go.
I am now looking to the sun. Paris-Nice has the nickname of "The Race to the Sun". From the snow to summer. Those are good prospects.
